A Tribute to the coolest small town I have ever lived in!

Budget Travel is having a vote to see what small town is the coolest.  A small town called Hammondsport in New York is on the list!  So is Cape May, NJ, but Hammondsport is way smaller and is actually in the lead!

"Readers nominated a record 647 towns this year – and now we’ve narrowed that list down to just 10 standout communities across the country. Read all about them, and then vote for your favorite! You can vote once daily, so be sure to get all your votes in before the contest closes on January 31st."

You can vote HERE.  Hammondsport is the 5th one down.  Cape May is the 2nd one down.  They even have a video you can watch.  The video shows off some parts of Hammondsport and talks about Keuka Lake (a lake I used to swim in when we lived in Hammondsport, within walking distance from our house.) and the Curtiss Museum.  I remember that museum from when I was a kid.  Very cool.  It shows a few views from the Bully Hill Winery, a great winery in Hammondsport.  They make excellent wine.

We didn't live in Hammondsport very long, only about a year, but I do have some very fond memories from living there.  It is a tourist town so the summers are filled with strangers but the up side of that is all the quaint shops down town.  I love small quaint shops and Hammondsport was filled with them.  I also remember the craft shows in the town square.  I used to love to walk around and look at all the artistic craft booths.

So please help Hammondsport win by voting for them everyday!  I have been voting everyday.  I watched as Hammondsport pulled ahead of Weaverville, CA and take the lead!  Right now Weaverville is at 23.1% and Hammondsport is at 23.9% so Hammondsport is just squeaking by!  Please help push them further ahead and help this town become America's Coolest small town!  I am sure the small business owners will appreciate the extra business that this publicity will bring them if they win!  Voting ends Jan 31st!
